European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Tuesday Trading

10:58 AM EST, 01/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending higher late Tuesday morning, rising 0.34% to 1,316.18 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech company BioNTech (BNTX) and energy major Equinor ( EQNR ) , which rose 4.8% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Nokia ( NOK ) and financial services company Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ) , which were up 2.1% and 1.7% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by internet browser company Opera (OPRA) and accommodations booking provider trivago (TRVG), which lost 4.6% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by biotech company Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which dropped 3.8% and 3.6% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) and TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which advanced 4.9% and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which increased 3.6% and 2.2% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech company Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which fell 4.3% and 4.1% respectively. They were followed by communications company WPP ( WPP ) and biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) , which were down 3.8% and 3.1% respectively.
