European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise Modestly in Wednesday Trading

10:57 AM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking modestly higher late Wednesday morning, rising 0.35% to 1,576.46 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm Evaxion ( EVAX ) and oil and gas company TotalEnergies (TTE), which advanced 33% and 3.7%, respectively. They were followed by internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) and telecommunications operator Telefonica ( TEF ) , which rose 3.4% and 3.1%, respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and medical device manufacturer EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which fell 2.1% and 0.9%, respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which dropped 1.8% and 1.6%, respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which increased 8.4% and 7.7%, respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) and communications company WPP ( WPP ) , which were up 5.9% and 2.7%, respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca ( AZN ) , which lost 16% and 1.1%, respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company GSK (GSK) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which were down 1% and 0.6%, respectively.
