European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Surge Higher in Tuesday Trading

11:12 AM EDT, 05/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were sharply higher late Tuesday morning, surging 1.50% to 1,467.30 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm Evaxion ( EVAX ) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which climbed 14% and 13% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which rose 4.8% and 3.7% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) and furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ), which were down 1.8% and 1.2% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which advanced 4.7% and 3.6% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) and biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which were up 3.4% and 3% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) , which fell 2.6% and 1.3% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) and utilities company National Grid ( NGG ) , which were off 1% and 0.7% respectively.
