European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Track Lower in Tuesday Trading

11:14 AM EST, 11/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending lower late Tuesday morning, declining 0.5% to 1,584.6 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and Genfit ( GNFT ) , which rose 5.5% and 5.2% respectively. They were followed by health tech company Royal Philips (PHG) and medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which were up 3.6% and 2% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by telecommunications operator Telefonica ( TEF ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which lost 12.5% and 11.3% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications companies Ericsson (ERIC) and Nokia ( NOK ) , which dropped 3.3% each.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which advanced 3% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company BP (BP) and pharmaceutical company GSK (GSK), which increased 2% and 0.7% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which fell 7.5% and 7% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) and oil and gas company BHP Group ( BHP ) , which were down 3.5% and 2.7% respectively.
