European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Trend Lower Thursday

11:08 AM EDT, 07/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving moderately lower late Thursday morning, declining 0.72% to 1,423.26 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which climbed 7.3% and 5.7%, respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which rose 4.4% and 4.1%, respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by telecommunications company Nokia ( NOK ) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which dropped 5.9% and 4.2%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) , which lost 2.4% and 1.2%, respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and communications company WPP ( WPP ) , which rose 6.3% and 2.4%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin ( AMRN ) and Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which were up 2.3% and 1.5%, respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which were down 3.9% and 3.4%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and NuCana ( NCNA ) , which fell 3.1% and 2.7%, respectively.
