From continental Europe, the gainers were led by internet browser company Opera (OPRA) and Philips (PHG), which rose 5.2% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by SAP (SAP), which added 3.1%.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which fell 3.7% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which were down 1.5% and 1.2% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , which climbed 6.7% and 6.2% respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava ( DAVA ) , which increased 4.9%.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which dropped 4.2% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which were off 0.7% and 0.6% respectively.
