US President Joe Biden delivered his first foreign policy address stressing on the need to lead with diplomacy while restoring ties with democratic allies and engaging with adversaries.
He struck a tough tone with Russia saying that days of rolling over to Russian aggression are over. He took a similar line with China, emphasising that the United States will confront China's economic and human rights abuses.
Biden's response to the military coup in Myanmar was one of the key highlights of his address. He said the US will work with partners to support restoration of democracy and impose consequences on those responsible.
