07:05 AM EDT, 06/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity markets were tracking in the green in Wednesday's premarket activity as investors await the remaining major corporations reporting their latest earnings.
Standard & Poor's 500 futures and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2% each before the open, while the Nasdaq added 0.5%. Asian exchanges were mixed to lower while European bourses were pointing higher.
Shares of CrowdStrike ( CRWD ) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise ( HPE ) jumped 8.4% and 14%, respectively, pre-bell after both companies lifted their full-year outlooks on the back of better-than-expected quarterly results. Guidewire Software ( GWRE ) climbed 7.9% as its fiscal third-quarter topped market estimates.
Dollar Tree ( DLTR ) , Brown Forman (BF.A, BF.B), Campbell Soup ( CPB ) , Thor Industries ( THO ) , Ollie's Bargain Outlet (OLLI) and Hibbett ( HIBB ) are scheduled to release earnings before the bell, among others. Lululemon Athletica ( LULU ) , Five Below ( FIVE ) , Smartsheet ( SMAR ) and Victorias Secret ( VSCO ) post financial results in the afterhours.
On the economic calendar, the weekly mortgage applications bulletin is out at 7 am ET, followed by the ADP Employment Report for last month at 8:15 am. The May purchasing managers' index composite final report from S&P Global is due at 9:45 am, followed by the ISM Services gauge for the same month at 10 am. The weekly domestic petroleum inventories report posts at 10:30 am.
Before the opening bell, bitcoin increased 0.7% to $70,853, West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.2% to $73.42 a barrel, yields on 10-year Treasuries edged up 0.4 basis points to 4.34% and gold moved 0.3% higher to $2,355 an ounce.
