07:07 AM EDT, 05/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The benchmark US stock measures were pointing higher before Monday's opening bell as investors take positions ahead of another busy corporate earnings week.

Standard & Poor's 500 futures, the Nasdaq and the Dow Jones Industrial Average each gained 0.3% in premarket activity. The majority of Asian exchanges were trending upwards, while European bourses were tracking in the green.

BioNTech (BNTX), Tyson Foods (TSN), Loews (L), CNA Financial (CNA), Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), Freshpet (FRPT), Krystal Biotech (KRYS) and Treehouse Foods (THS) report their latest financial results pre-bell, among others. Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX), Palantir Technologies (PLTR) and Coty (COTY) are some of the companies scheduled to disclose earnings after the markets close.

Perficient's (PRFT) shares jumped 53% before the bell as the digital consultancy company said it would be acquired and taken private by Swedish investment firm EQT in $3 billion all-cash deal. MicroStrategy (MSTR) climbed 6.1% while Walt Disney (DIS), which is set to post its financial statements on Tuesday, rose 0.6%.

With no economic reports scheduled for Monday's calendar, traders will keep an eye out for speeches by some central bank officials for any clues on future Federal Reserve policy moves. Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin is slated to speak at 12:50 pm ET, while New York Fed President John Williams speaks at 1 pm.

Before the open, bitcoin edged up 0.3% to $64,104, West Texas Intermediate crude advanced 1.1% to $78.95 a barrel, yields on 10-year Treasuries declined 2.1 basis points to 4.48% and gold rose 0.9% at $2,328 an ounce.
