Maryam Nawaz, Senior Vice President of PML-N party, has told Imran Khan that the "game is over" for the cricketer-turned-politician following an exodus of his party's senior members.

Maryam made these remarks on Friday while addressing a convention in Pakistan's Punjab province. During her address, she also talked about the incidents on May 9 the day on which the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf: party chief Imran Khan was arrested, triggering violent protests countrywide.

Maryam, the 49-year-old daughter of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, told.

The Shehbaz Sharif-led Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government alleges that PTI chief Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, received land worth millions of dollars as a bribe from a real estate tycoon through the Al-Qadir Trust.

The trust, set up by the couple in 2018, runs a university outside Islamabad devoted to spirituality and Islamic teachings.

Executing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)'s arrest warrant, Pakistan Rangers, a paramilitary force under the direct control of the army, arrested Khan from the Premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9.

Punjab police were planning to bring people to accuse him of harbouring terrorists, said Imran Khan in his latest tweet. "The reason they didn't was because what they were planning was to bring 30-40 people with them and then accuse me for harboring terrorists just like last time when they broke into my house through an armoured car and then planted Kalashnikov and petrol bombs," he tweeted.

Pakistan’s Tri-Service media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said that May 9 violence across Pakistan will be remembered as a “black chapter”, referring to the protests “targeting army property and installations.”
