Standard & Poor's 500 futures and the Nasdaq gained 0.5% each in the premarket, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.4%. The majority of Asian and European exchanges were trending higher.
Verizon Communications (VZ), Truist Financial (TFC), Albertsons (ACI), Zions Bancorporation (ZION), Bank of Hawaii (BOH) and AZZ (AZZ) report their latest financial results pre-bell, among others. SAP (SAP), Cadence Design Systems (CDNS), Nucor (NUE) and Brown & Brown (BRO) post earnings in the afterhours.
Technology giants Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) and Meta Platforms (META) are scheduled to release their financial statements later this week, alongside Tesla (TSLA), Pepsico (PEP), AT&T (T), Boeing (BA), United Parcel Service (UPS), Intel (INTC), American Airlines (AAL), Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Chevron (CVX).
On Monday's thin economic calendar, the Chicago Fed National Activity Index for March posts at 8:30 am ET. The initial first-quarter gross domestic product estimate is due Thursday, while the personal income and outlays report for March is out on Friday.
Before the open, bitcoin advanced 2.2% to $66,094, West Texas Intermediate crude dipped 0.1% to $83.05 a barrel, yields on 10-year Treasuries climbed 4.5 basis points to 4.66% and gold declined 1.8% to $2,371 an ounce.
