Stocks Mostly Up Pre-Bell Ahead of Latest Earnings Releases; Asia, Europe Rise

07:20 AM EDT, 05/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were mostly trending upwards before Tuesday's open as traders turn their attention to the latest batch of corporate earnings.

The S&P 500 futures were slightly in the green and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2% in premarket activity, while the Nasdaq was off 0.2%. Asian and European exchanges were pointing higher.

Palantir Technologies' (PLTR) shares dropped 10% pre-bell despite lifting its full-year guidance. Coty (COTY) advanced 3.8% as the beauty company raised its fiscal 2024 outlook expectations. Lucid Group (LCID) fell 8.9% as the electric vehicle maker's first-quarter results missed market estimates.

Walt Disney (DIS), Ferrari (RACE), Duke Energy (DUK), Transdigm (TDG), Sempra (SRE), Datadog (DDOG), Rockwell Automation (ROK), Jacobs Solutions (J), Henry Schein (HSIC), Crocs (CROX), Bloomin' Brands (BLMN) and Energizer (ENR) report their latest financial results before the bell, among others.

Arista Networks (ANET), Occidental Petroleum (OXY), Electronic Arts (EA), Rivian Automotive (RIVN), Reddit (RDDT) and Lyft (LYFT) post quarterly earnings in the afterhours.

The Federal Reserve's consumer credit bulletin for March is out at 3 pm ET for Tuesday's thin economic calendar. Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari is scheduled to speak at 11:30 am.

Before the opening bell, bitcoin inclined 1.6% to $64,047, West Texas Intermediate crude dipped 0.3% to $78.28 a barrel, yields on 10-year Treasuries decreased 2.8 basis points to 4.46% and gold edged down 0.4% to $2,322 an ounce.
