07:12 AM EST, 02/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US equity markets were tracking in the green before the opening bell Thursday as investors assess tech bellwether Nvidia's ( NVDA ) latest quarterly results.
Standard & Poor's 500 and the Nasdaq rose 0.6% each in premarket activity, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.3%. The majority of Asian exchanges were pointing higher while European bourses were mostly trending downwards midday on the continent.
Shares of Nvidia ( NVDA ) gained 1% pre-bell as the chipmaker reported better-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter results. The tech giant also issued an upbeat revenue outlook at the midpoint for the ongoing three-month period.
Salesforce ( CRM ) declined 3.9% as the customer relationship management platform's fiscal fourth-quarter revenue fell short of market estimates. Snowflake's (SNOW) stock jumped 13% as the cloud-based data platform company logged fiscal fourth-quarter results above Wall Street's expectations.
Vistra ( VST ) , BeiGene (ONC), Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) , Endeavor Group ( EDR ) , Hormel Foods ( HRL ) , Viatris ( VTRS ) , J.M. Smucker (SJM), Norwegian Cruise Line ( NCLH ) , Bath & Body Works ( BBWI ) , Donaldson (DCI), EchoStar ( SATS ) and Payoneer Global ( PAYO ) report their latest financial results before the bell, among others.
Dell Technologies ( DELL ) , Autodesk ( ADSK ) , Monster Beverage ( MNST ) and HP (HPQ) are scheduled to release earnings after the markets close.
On the economic calendar, the durable goods orders report for January, the second estimate for the fourth-quarter gross domestic product and the weekly jobless claims bulletin all post at 8:30 am ET. The National Association of Realtors pending home sales index for last month is due at 10 am.
The weekly EIA natural-gas supplies report is out at 10:30 am, followed by the Kansas City Federal Reserve's manufacturing index for February at 11 am.
Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin is scheduled to speak at 7:30 am, while Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid speaks at 9:15 am. Federal Reserve Governors Michael Barr and Michelle Bowman speak at 10 am and 11:45 am, respectively.
Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack is slated to speak at 1:15 pm while Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker speaks at 3:15 pm.
Before the opening bell, bitcoin advanced 3.1% to $86,411, West Texas Intermediate crude oil inclined 1% to $69.29 a barrel, yields on 10-year Treasuries climbed 5.5 basis points to 4.3% and gold decreased 1% to $2,901 an ounce.
