07:14 AM EST, 11/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The benchmark US stock measures were pointing higher before Friday's open following the Thanksgiving holiday and ahead of a shortened trading session.
Standard & Poor's 500 and the Nasdaq rose 0.3% each in premarket activity, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.4%. Most of the Asian exchanges were tracking in the green, while European bourses were mixed to lower midday on the continent.
Shares of Nvidia ( NVDA ) were up 1.6% pre-bell while Tesla (TSLA) inclined 1.3%. MicroStrategy ( MSTR ) gained 4.5% and Super Micro Computer ( SMCI ) increased 1%.
Friday's thin economic calendar has the farm prices report for October at 3 pm ET. Equity exchanges close early at 1 pm.
Before the open, bitcoin traded up 2.6% at $97,292, West Texas Intermediate crude oil slipped 0.5% to $68.35 a barrel, yields on 10-year Treasuries declined 3.1 basis points to 4.21% and gold moved 0.9% higher to $2,663 an ounce.
