More than 3.02 million shares traded intraday, compared with a daily average of about 625,000.

Merck ( MRK ) shares sank over 10% after its 2025 guidance for non-GAAP earnings and sales trailed analyst expectations.

Deutsche Bank cut its price target to $132 from $140.

Intraday trading volume was over 36 million against a daily average of about 11.6 million.

Estee Lauder ( EL ) expects to eliminate 5,800 to 7,000 job roles as part of a restructuring plan following its Q2 results.

The company said it expects continued volatility and low visibility in the near term due to challenges in its Asia travel retail business, subdued consumer sentiment in China and Korea, and evolving global geopolitical uncertainty.

Estee shares were down about 16%, with trading volume of over 14 million shares against a daily average of some 4.1 million.
