Nearly 11.1 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of more than 2.71 million.

Affimed ( AFMD ) said Tuesday it decided to apply to open insolvency proceedings with the local court of Mannheim in Germany.

Shares sank roughly 80% following an increase in intraday trading volume to over 8 million from a daily average of about 104,000.

UnitedHealth Group ( UNH ) suspended its full-year outlook Tuesday amid higher-than-expected medical costs while announcing Andrew Witty has stepped down as chief executive due to "personal reasons."
