Telecoms, down 1.3% is the worst performer, followed by materials, down 0.7%, as precious metals prices fall.
The financials sector is up just 0.1%. Energy has also edged up slightly.
In other news, Statistics Canada is releasing April's gross domestic product figures tomorrow. The agency will also provide a preliminary estimate for May.
Also on the agenda for this week is a deadline over the Wednesday formal review date for the US-Canada-Mexico trade agreement.
