UK Stocks-Factors to watch on June 16
Jun 15, 2026 10:28 PM

June 16 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is seen opening lower on Tuesday, with futures down 0.15%.

* THAMES: Britain's environment minister Emma Reynolds has raised concerns to water regulator Ofwat that customers will lose out in a proposed £10 billion rescue package for utility Thames Water, The Times reported.

* OIL: Oil prices extended losses as markets weighed prospects for resumption of supply through the key Strait of Hormuz against shaky physical market drivers and a lack of details from a preliminary deal to end the Iran war.

* METALS: Copper slipped as Middle East uncertainties still lingered despite a preliminary U.S.-Iran deal, while falling retail sales data in China weighed on sentiment.

* GOLD: Gold prices edged higher, extending gains for a fourth straight session, as a preliminary U.S.-Iran peace agreement eased concerns about an interest rate hike, while investors awaited further details on the deal.

* FTSE: UK stocks edged higher on Monday as global risk sentiment received a boost after the United States and Iran reached a preliminary peace agreement.
