June 23 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is
seen opening lower on Monday, with futures down 0.4%.
* BP: BP is considering Sam Laidlaw, the former chief
executive of British Gas owner Centrica ( CPYYF ), as a leading
candidate to succeed Helge Lund as chairman, Sky News reported
on Saturday.
* THAMES WATER: Britain's Thames Water may be required to
restate its financial accounts for the year ended March 2024,
the Financial Times reported on Friday.
* METRO BANK ( MTRBF ): Colombian billionaire Jaime Gilinski Bacal is
open to selling his majority stake in British lender Metro Bank ( MTRBF )
and has received interest from investors, two people
with knowledge of the matter said.
* ROLLS-ROYCE: British officials are lobbying South Korea to
switch to Rolls-Royce from U.S. rival GE Aerospace as the
primary engine partner for its fighter jet programme, the
Financial Times reported on Monday.
* ENQUEST ( ENQUF ): UK explorer EnQuest ( ENQUF ) expects to complete
the acquisition of Harbour Energy's ( PMOIF ) business in Vietnam
in the next month or two and plans to drill new wells to
increase oil production there, CEO Amjad Bseisu said.
* INDUSTRIAL STRATEGY: Britain will aim to cut the
electricity bills of thousands of companies under a new
industrial strategy to be published on Monday.
* COMMODITIES: Oil prices jumped to their highest since
January, gold prices edged lower, aluminium prices outperformed
copper with the most-traded contracts on the London and Shanghai
exchanges surging on Monday.
* FTSE: Britain's FTSE 100 snapped a five-week
winning streak on Friday.
