Violent protests erupt in Dublin following stabbing of woman and children outside school
Nov 24, 2023 5:00 AM

Violent clashes broke out in Ireland’s capital, Dublin, on Thursday evening after five, including three children and a woman, were injured in a knife attack outside a school.

According to a Reuters report, the incident sparked riots in the city centre, however, the police have not yet ruled out any specific motive behind it, including a terror-linked angle.

Meanwhile, public transport was suspended after the clash broke down between the riot police and protesters, who arrived at the scene of the attack, which is located in the main route of O’Connell Street.

During the clash, a double-decker bus was set on fire in front of the Daniel O’Connell statue, alongside the smashing of the windows at a nearby Holiday Inn hotel and McDonald’s outlet. Apart from that, a footlocker store was looted by rioters as well, the report added.
