Wall St opens higher on China trade de-escalation hopes, Fed on tap

(Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes opened slightly higher on Wednesday as investors hoped for a de-escalation in trade tensions with Beijing and awaited the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates later in the day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 127.1 points, or 0.31%, at the open to 40,956.08. The S&P 500 rose 7.3 points, or 0.13%, at the open to 5,614.18​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 17.2 points, or 0.10%, to 17,706.827 at the opening bell.
