08:26 AM EDT, 08/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Air Canada ( ACDVF ) on Wednesday said that from Jan. 1 Aeroplan members will earn points based on dollars spent rather than the distance travelled.

Members will earn at least one Aeroplan point per $1 spent on eligible Air Canada ( ACDVF ) flights.

Also beginning next year, Air Canada ( ACDVF ) will introduce Status Qualifying Credits (SQC), a new single path for achieving Elite status. Members will be able to get SQC through eligible flight purchases, Aeroplan credit card spending, and activity with the program's travel and everyday partners, a statement said.
