06:59 AM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) are central to Turkey's plan to buy hundreds of airliners and fighters while securing local jet-parts production deals worth more than $10 billion, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The plan reportedly requires US President Donald Trump's approval, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan due at the White House Thursday as the Turkish government seeks to reset ties strained by its purchase of Russia's S-400 system.
Turkey aims to clear a path under CAATSA to purchase 40 F-35A jets, a step that could deepen defense-industry cooperation, the news outlet reported.
Talks also cover restoring about 10 Turkish companies to the F-35 supply chain, previously projected near $12 billion in parts work, and potential roles for local electronics and software providers, Bloomberg reported.
Boeing ( BA ), Lockheed Martin ( LMT ), and the White House did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
