07:25 AM EDT, 04/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Procter & Gamble ( PG ) has been identified as the previously unnamed company under informal investigation by European Union antitrust regulators for potentially restricting cross-border product sales within the bloc, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the case.
The European Commission reportedly suspects Procter & Gamble ( PG ) may have segmented product sales across the EU to prevent lower-priced goods from moving freely between countries.
The investigation was first revealed in March without naming the company, with the EU officials only stating that a firm in the "personal care sector" was involved, the report said.
No formal charges have been filed against Procter & Gamble ( PG ) and the inquiry remains in its preliminary stages, the report said and added that "regulators often drop investigations in the fact-finding stages if their initial concerns can't be backed up."
Procter & Gamble ( PG ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires. The European Commission declined to comment.
