04:56 AM EDT, 04/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- XPeng ( XPEV ) expects to start large-scale production of its flying cars in 2027 and humanoid robots in Q4 this year, Reuters reported Thursday, citing President Brian Gu.

The Chinese electric vehicle maker has received more than 7,000 orders for its flying cars, the news agency reported, adding that most of the orders are in China, where the company is waiting to receive approval from aviation authorities.

XPeng ( XPEV ) will also launch robotaxi tests in China's Guangzhou city this year, Gu told Reuters, adding that the automaker will develop hundreds to thousands of robotaxis over the next one year to 18 months.

The company's shares were down 5.3% in premarket activity Thursday.
