09:05 AM EDT, 04/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were leaning lower premarket Wednesday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.1%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 1.1% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was down 1.5%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.9% at $84.61 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea crude oil lost 1% to reach $89.14 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 2.6% at $1.69 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Sunoco ( SUN ) stock was up more than 1% after the company said overnight it priced a $1.50 billion private offering of senior notes in two tranches at 100% of face value.
