The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) rose 0.6%.

In corporate news, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals ( REGN ) shares fell 2.7% after media reports said that a US appeals court denied the company's request to block sales of biosimilar versions of its drug Eylea.
