In corporate news, Amgen's ( AMGN ) new launches and pipeline progress are now under investor focus after the company topped estimates for Q3, according to a Morgan Stanley note. Amgen ( AMGN ) shares jumped 8.3%.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to announce at 11 am Thursday a deal with Eli Lilly ( LLY ) and Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) on the price of weight loss medications, CBS News reporter Jennifer Jacobs said on X. The deal is expected to lower the drug price to under $150 per month in some cases, Jacobs said. Eli Lilly ( LLY ) shares rose 4.5%, and Novo was down 0.9%.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries ( TEVA ) shares surged 21% after the company posted higher Q3 non-GAAP earnings and net revenue that also topped analysts' expectations.
Humana (HUM) stock fell over 7% following its Q3 results.
