The Philadelphia Semiconductor index shed 1.8%.

In corporate news, Nvidia ( NVDA ) invested $150 million in AI inference startup Baseten as part of a $300 million funding round that values the San Francisco-based company at roughly $5 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported. Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares were down 4.1%.
