Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Ease in Friday Trading

10:41 AM EDT, 08/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were edging lower on Friday morning, decreasing 0.18% to 1,866.82 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by Japanese beauty products retailer Yoshitsu ( TKLF ) and Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto ( LI ) , which advanced 2.6% and 1.4% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by Chinese streaming service provider Tencent Music (TME) and Chinese computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN), which fell 4.2% and 3.6% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by Indian information technology companies Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) and Infosys ( INFY ) , which were rising 2.3% and 0.7% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by Indian information technology firm Wipro ( WIT ) , which was shedding 0.3%.
