Aug 27 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened at a

record high on Wednesday as investors cheered strong quarterly

results from top domestic lenders Royal Bank of Canada ( RY )

and National Bank of Canada ( NTIOF ).

At 9:31 a.m. ET (1331 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's

S&P/TSX composite index was up 0.14% at 28,380.39

points.
