Stocks Look Set to Open Trading Session Marginally Lower Wednesday as Investors Look Ahead to Nvidia Earnings

09:26 AM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US stocks look set to open flat in Wednesday's trading session as investors await Nvidia's Q2 results, which will be announced after the markets close.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were off 0.01%, S&P 500 futures were down 0.03%, and Nasdaq futures were losing 0.04%.

Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmarks Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude up 0.18% and 0.35% respectively.

The Energy Information Administration will release its crude oil Inventories later in the morning. Analysts are expecting inventories to decline by 2 million after it fell by 6 million barrels the previous week, according to Bloomberg.

In other world markets, Japan's Nikkei gained 0.30%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 1.27%, and China's Shanghai Composite shed 1.76%. Meanwhile in Europe's early afternoon session, the UK's FTSE 100 was off 0.21%, Germany's DAX was down 0.44%, and France's CAC 40 was up 0.36%.

In equities, shares of NovaBay Pharmaceuticals (NBY) were soaring 97% after a slight loss on Tuesday. MongoDB's ( MDB ) stock jumped 31% after the database software maker lifted its full-year outlook on the back of stronger-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results. Shares of DevvStream ( DEVS ) surged 46% in Wednesday's premarket activity following an 11% loss the previous session. Shares of Kohl's (KSS) advanced 21% after it reported Q2 earnings and 2025 guidance that beat analyst forecasts. AgriFORCE Growing Systems' ( AGRI ) stock climbed 5% after it said Wednesday that it has signed a deal to deploy 4 MW of hydro-cooled power generation and mining infrastructure in Alberta, Canada. And shares of Electromed (ELMD) rose more than 15% after it reported after market hours Tuesday rising fiscal Q4 earnings and revenue that surpassed analysts' expectations.

On the losing side, Neonode ( NEON ) shares shed 5% , adding to a 9% loss on Tuesday. Shares of Quantum (QMCO) dropped 9% after it said late Tuesday that it has delayed its Q2 earnings filings. Oriental Culture's ( OCG ) stock fell nearly 3% after a 33% gain the previous session. Capstone (CAPS) dropped 9%, adding to a 17% loss Tuesday. And Molecular Partners ( MOLN ) shares were down 8%.
