"All village electrification requires more power generation, transmission of power and helps overall electrical equipment and transformer industry," said Devendra Kumar Gupta, Chief Financial Officer, Transformers & Rectifiers, to CNBC-TV18.

"The transformer industry or in the segment they operate, does not benefit directly from rural electrification," said Gupta.

However, the company currently has a healthy order book of around Rs 900 crore and could see a 10% growth in FY19 due to the above developments.

He said the export business is expected to grow by 20% in FY19.

Power Grid remains their major customer along with state boards who are now placing orders for transformers.

Margins in FY19 are also expected to improve on back of exports and renewable power sector supplies, he added.
