05:05 PM EDT, 05/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- 5N Plus ( FPLSF ) after trade Wednesday said its first-quarter profit and revenue rose year-over-year.
The specialty semiconductors and performance materials company earned US$9.57 million, or US$0.11 per share, in the quarter, up from US$2.51 million, or US$0.03, share a year ago. FactSet expected US$0.06 per share.
Revenue climbed to US$88.88 million from US$65.02 million a year prior. The company said the 37% increase was mainly driven by higher sales in renewable energy and space solar power under the Specialty Semiconductors segment, as well as more sales of bismuth-based products in Performance Materials. FactSet projected revenue of US$73.6 million.
Based on its performance so far this year and expected short-term demand, mainly in the Specialty Semiconductors segment, management is maintaining its 2025 guidance for adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization at US$55 million to US$60 million, the company added.
5N shares closed down $0.04 to $6.66 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
