Global streaming service, Netflix, issued a warning this week to its fans asking them to stop getting hurt doing the Bird Box Challenge.

The social media team of Netflix wrote on Twitter, asking people to be careful and not hurt themselves while performing the act.

Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.

What is Bird Box challenge?

The challenge is based on Netflix’s runaway hit, Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock. It involves putting on a blindfold and navigating your environment blind. But, lot of people got hurt doing this challenge.

What is Bird Box?

Bird Box is a 2014 post-apocalyptic novel by writer and singer Josh Malerman. The book follows a woman who must find a way to guide herself and her children to safety despite the potential threat from an unseen adversary. The story is partially told via flashbacks and takes place during three time periods.
