04:53 PM EDT, 03/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Air Canada ( ACDVF ) after trade Wednesday provided additional information on Air Canada Express Flight AC8646 which was involved in a crash upon landing at New York LaGuardia on March 22, leading to the death of its two pilots, and injuring others.
In a second update since the event, Air Canada ( ACDVF ) says the Air Canada Special Assistance Team remains in New York and is "continuing their work providing support to passengers, the crew and loved ones of those involved" with the flight, operated by Jazz Aviation.
"As of today," it adds, "four of the injured passengers and crew remain in hospital."
Air Canada ( ACDVF ) notes the aircraft has been released and its maintenance teams on site in New York will move the aircraft as soon as it is safe, to a secured hangar.
"Once the aircraft is in the hangar, Air Canada ( ACDVF ) teams will begin the process of reuniting people with baggage and personal belongings. Items will be safely returned as soon as possible, although the process of sorting and identifying all belongings from the aircraft will take time.
It added: Air Canada ( ACDVF ) and Jazz Aviation are cooperating with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and the National Transportation Safety Board in the United States in the investigation of the cause of this accident.
