06:08 AM EDT, 08/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Air Canada ( ACDVF ) late on Sunday said it has suspended a plan to resume limited flying after the Canadian Union of Public Employees directed its flight attendant members to defy an order to return to work. The airline will now resume flights on Monday evening.
All Air Canada ( ACDVF ) and Air Canada Rouge operations were suspended on Saturday due to a strike by CUPE. The Canadian Industrial Relations Board then ordered a resumption of activities and directed flight attendants to return to work. The order ended both CUPE's strike and the lockout Air Canada ( ACDVF ) had imposed in response. Approximately 240 flights scheduled to operate starting Sunday afternoon have been canceled.
Air Canada Express flights operated by Jazz or PAL continue to operate as normal.
