09:27 AM EDT, 10/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alaska Air Group ( ALK ) said Wednesday that Alaska Airlines obtained a single operating certificate from the US Federal Aviation Administration to operate alongside Hawaiian Airlines as two separate brands.

The certificate allows other integration initiatives, such as combining scheduling and passenger service systems, Alaska Air ( ALK ) said.

Diana Birkett Rakow, executive vice president of public affairs and sustainability at Alaska Airlines, will become Chief Executive Officer of Hawaiian Airlines, succeeding Joe Sprague, who is retiring, the company said.

Alaska Air ( ALK ) shares were almost 1% higher ahead of Wednesday's opening bell.
