01:38 PM EST, 02/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alibaba Group's ( BABA ) cloud unit made its artificial intelligence models for video generation open source and free, the company said Wednesday on its news portal Alizila.

Alibaba Cloud is open-sourcing four models from its Wan 2.1 series, including 14 billion- and 1.3 billion-parameter versions. The T2V-14B, T2V-1.3B, I2V-14B-720P, and I2V-14B-480P models create images and videos from text and image inputs and are available on Alibaba Cloud community Model Scope and collaborative platform Hugging Face.

The T2V-14B model is optimized for motion dynamics, while T2V-1.3B balances quality and computational efficiency, allowing video generation on standard laptops. The I2V models support both text-to-video and image-to-video capabilities, Alibaba Cloud said.
