The announcement follows the June appointment of Fred Bohley as chief operating officer. Bohley continued to serve as CFO while the company sought a successor.

Mell, 53, most recently served as CFO at TriMas ( TRS ) . Allison Transmission ( ALSN ) said Thursday in a regulatory filing.
