Alphabet's Google Can Keep AI Investments in Revised Antitrust Plan by US Regulators
Mar 10, 2025 3:49 AM

06:30 AM EDT, 03/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) will be allowed by US regulators to keep the company's investments in artificial intelligence companies in a pending antitrust lawsuit.

In a filing with the court Friday, the US Department of Justice and a coalition of state attorneys general said they no longer seek the mandatory divestiture of Google's ( GOOG ) AI investments.

However, the plaintiffs are still seeking a court order requiring Google ( GOOG ) to sell its Chrome browser, in addition to other measures aimed at addressing monopoly concerns in search, according to the court filing.

Google ( GOOG ) did not immediately respond to MTNewswires' request for comment.
