07:24 AM EDT, 08/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) is expanding the "AI Overviews" feature on its Google Search website to six new countries after it launched the artificial intelligence-backed search summaries in the US in May.

Reuters said Google ( GOOG ) is introducing AI Overviews to Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, and Britain. According to Google's ( GOOG ) website, the feature will be available in local languages such as Hindi, Spanish, Japanese, Indonesian, and Portuguese.

Liz Reid, who heads Google Search, said in May that the company targets to bring AI Overviews to "over a billion people by the end of the year."
