Alphabet's Google Fined $8.9 Million by Turkish Competition Authority

09:46 AM EDT, 07/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) has been assessed an administrative fine of around 355.1 million lira ($8.9 million) by the Turkish Competition Authority for failing to comply with regulatory obligations to remedy its dominant position in search services over local competitors, the agency said Thursday.

The government agency had imposed a number of obligations "to remedy the infringement and establish competition in the market" due to a previous probe, according to the statement.

Alphabet did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
