Alphabet's Google Reportedly Calls on Justice Department to Keep Company Intact
Mar 5, 2025 3:20 AM

06:03 AM EST, 03/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) has called on the US Department of Justice to keep the company intact as officials consider breaking up the search engine giant to resolve two anti-monopoly cases, media outlets reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.

According to the reports, the ongoing cases are related to Google's ( GOOG ) leading position in online search and advertising technology. Potential anti-monopoly remedies include divestments of certain parts of Google's ( GOOG ) business, media outlets said.

A trial over the appropriate remedies is set for April and a final ruling is expected in August, Reuters reported.

Google ( GOOG ) and the US Department of Justice did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
