Alphabet's Waymo Unit Expands Autonomous Ride-Hailing Plans to New Orleans, Minneapolis, Tampa
Nov 20, 2025 11:36 AM

11:20 AM EST, 11/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Waymo unit said Thursday it is expanding its services by adding New Orleans, Minneapolis, and Tampa to its autonomous ride-hailing development plans.

The company said New Orleans will be among its next launch markets, noting the Waymo Driver previously completed tests in the city and managed dense crowds and older road layouts.

The company said it has also started testing operations in Minneapolis with a mixed fleet to prepare for future service expansion.

Tampa is also in line, with its all-electric fleet arriving soon to begin local testing ahead of a planned service launch, it said.

Alphabet's shares were up about 4.6% in recent trading.
