05:35 AM EDT, 04/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon's ( AMZN ) Project Kuiper late Monday launched and deployed its first batch of 27 satellites into low orbit, launch partner United Launch Alliance said.
Project Kuiper aims to create a broadband network to rival SpaceX's Starlink constellation, news outlets reported.
The rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, said ULA, a joint venture of Boeing ( BA ) and Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) .
Project Kuiper will use ULA's Vulcan rocket for 38 launches to deploy more than half of the 3,200 satellites in its planned constellation, ULA said.
