Amazon.com's 'Project Hail Mary' Delivers $80.5 Million North American Debut

05:45 AM EDT, 03/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's ( AMZN ) "Project Hail Mary" movie earned roughly $80.5 million in ticket sales in its first weekend playing in North America, news outlets reported Sunday, citing studio estimates.

The science fiction film starring Ryan Gosling exceeded box office expectations and delivered a record opening for studio Amazon MGM, according to news reports.

Amazon ( AMZN ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
