08:33 AM EDT, 05/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon's ( AMZN ) Zoox unit is recalling 270 of its vehicles equipped with the automated driving systems software, which had versions released before May 21, as the software may let the vehicle move after "failing" to detect a human right next to the robotaxis, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a report filed by Zoox.
Zoox has updated the software without any charges, the report said.
The Amazon ( AMZN ) unit also filed a "voluntary" software recall on May 6 with the US auto safety regulator after an incident between an "unoccupied" Zoox robotaxi and a passenger car, where only "minor damage" took place to both vehicles.
Amazon's ( AMZN ) stock was up 1.7% in recent premarket activity.
