American Airlines' 737 Jetliner Suffered Break System 'Anomaly' in Feb. 10 Runway Incident, NTSB Says
Mar 21, 2024 1:25 PM

04:05 PM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- An American Airlines' ( AAL ) 737 jetliner suffered a brake system "anomaly" after landing at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Feb. 10, the National Transportation Safety Board in the US said Thursday in a preliminary report.

The brake did not work when the Boeing (BA) plane landed, prompting manual breaking by applying pressure to the pedals while deploying the thrust reversers, the NTSB said.

An initial investigation found improperly connected hydraulic lines in the break system and a "discrepancy" with the wiring, it said.

None of the 104 passengers and crew were hurt when they disembarked via airstairs onto the overrun area, the NTSB said.

Neither American Airlines ( AAL ) nor Boeing immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
