05:47 PM EDT, 06/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Electric Power ( AEP ) said late Wednesday it has named William Fehrman as chief executive and president, starting Aug. 1.

The company said interim CEO Ben Fowke will serve as a senior adviser for "several months" to ensure a smooth transition.

Fehrman currently serves as CEO and president of Centuri ( CTRI ) , which separately said he will continue in those roles through July 31.

Centuri ( CTRI ) has appointed Paul Caudill as interim CEO and president. Caudill has served in a consulting role at the company as a senior adviser to the CEO since January, Centuri ( CTRI ) said.

Centuri ( CTRI ) shares were down 1.5% in after-hours activity, while American Electric was little changed.
